Memorial Day Weekend

We have had a very eventful weekend. I, luckily, avoided jury duty so Ken and I had a 5 day weekend! Saturday night we went to a party to celebrate Warren's newest police officer fresh from the academy. Congrats Mike! Ken brought the mustaches and they were a huge hit with everyone.

Sunday we went to the Warner house for a PJ's birthday and he let Mark share his birthday cake with him - PJ is a good cousin.

PJ even took time away from playing with baseball with the big boys and played catch with the two littlest boys.

The Warners got Mark a super cool water volleyball/limbo toy that Mark could NOT wait to play with. Thank goodness it finally got warm enough to be able to play with it or I don't know what would have happened. Mark has already been waiting soooo long to be able to have a camp out in the backyard that waiting must past noon to play with this toy may have pushed him over the edge. Don't mess with a 5 year old on a mission!

Turning 5 Rocks!

Mark is 5! He had a wonderful party at Pump It Up - the happening place for the pre-school set. He also got to wear a crown at school on his birthday. He's totally rocking that look isnt' he?
One of Ken's friends is graduating from the police academy and a bunch of his friends are going to wear these mustaches (ala Reno 911!) to a party for him. Mark had to try one on and so did Ken. They should both become cops! If Mark ever gets over his fear of police cars. Maybe I should let him watch Reno 911! instead of COPS? No, bad idea.

Dad's Plane

On Saturday, May 3rd, my brother and his family, along with Ken, Mark and I, went to clean the plane that my sister-in-law adopted in memory of my Dad, Jerry Holley.
Dad was stationed at Selfridge Airbase when he was in the air force, and after flying on a cargo plane to Michigan, never got on a plane again! How he managed this in the air force is still baffling to me, but he did.
After cleaning the plane, the cousins had tons of fun going inside some of the other planes and just generally running amok. Mark insisted on getting a picture where he and his cousins make silly faces. Aren't they cute? So glad I got one with them smiling too. My nephew Jerry (in the blue bandanna) was in heaven since he has already decided the military life is for him.
We had a wonderful time. I'm sure Dad was there watching too.
