Here is another video from my digital camera. I'm kind of obsessed with using it for these little videos. They feel like the 8mm movies from when I was a kid (totally dating myself!). I was trying to get Mark driving his Jeep but it only allows about 20 seconds of video and Mark was too slow!

1st Soccer Practice

Well, if you've ever wanted to know what soccer practice is like for the 3/4 year old set, here it is.
Can you even see the kids???
It was very cute and fun though. We really thought Mark was not going to do well. He'd been so excited for so long about going to soccer, but on the morning of he decided he didn't want to go. Then he decided he would go, but only to watch. Geez! When did he start thinking for himself, exactly? But, after walking an eternity and back trying to find the right field (it would have only been an eternity, but of course we went in the wrong direction, hence the "back" portion) we met the coach, who is really great with the kids and Mark had a wonderful time. He says, for now, the he is looking forward to soccer next Saturday.
I took this little video on my camera - not that I meant to, it just happened! Let's see if I can intentionally upload it here.

It's a bit grainy, but hey, I didn't even know I was taking a movie! HA! And look at my boy! Bend it like Beckam? blech! Move it Like Mark!! He really did have a good time and I hope it continues. Such good exercise for the kids, and apparently the parents as well.

After soccer Ken decided that Mark has to start earning his keep, so he put him to work washing the porch furniture. Being Ken's son, Mark was a natural washing not only the furniture, but the van as well. He is his father's son.

Thank goodness it is finally warm enough for Mark to do his all-time favorite thing, which is wear his bathing suit and play with the hose.

So, after a hard day of soccer learning, washing various things in the yard, it was time for some serious cruising time in his Big Green Racing Jeep. Could life be any better??

Spring???

Is spring here??? It was 73 yesterday, but of course, being at work all day, who can enjoy it? I shouldn't complain, but it was such a looooong nasty winter here and it seems that spring is just taking its sweet time getting here! This is Mark screaming for spring!!! <----------- Ken and I celebrated our 19th anniversary on April 1st (yes we were married on April Fool's Day, so what!). I remember on our wedding day and how lovely the weather was, warm and sunny. All the trees had buds on them already and no one had to wear a coat. {sigh} It just makes me wonder what the heck is going on this year - where is the warm weather??? I guess I am a bit obsessed with the weather today. Being cooped up for months on end will do that to you. I want to sit on my deck (stop laughing Ken) and enjoy the sun (really, stop laughing Ken).

Not much else is really new. Work is good, I guess. If only one of our drivers would win a race already!!! I'm itching to paint the house (inside) but am afraid that once I start I will be overwhelmed. Plus, I'm trying to talk Ken into letting me paint all the molding. He has an aversion to painting wood, but this wood would look so much better painted (I think). Lord help me if I paint it and it looks like crap! LOL

Mark starts soccer "classes" on the 19th. That ought to be fun. I think he'll enjoy it but I don't know how much he'll "learn." It will be good just to get him out of the house and away from all things COPS, Ninja Warrior and his latest obsession The Unbeatable Banzooke. Curses to G4 - the channel from hades!
