Blog on Demand

I have been told that I need to update my blog to show our pumpkin carving expertise. Ken and I each carved a pumpkin - I'm not telling whose is whose - which one do you like better?

Mark and his best friend from pre-school at his friend's birthday party. Bowling is cool! Mark had such a good time and he loved seeing his friend. Mark tried the whole party to stake a claim on a bowling ball to call his own. Here he is keeping his hand on a ball so that no one else could use it. Sharing is hard when you're 5, but he managed.
Kind of a whacky smile isn't it? But his spikey hair is cute!
Not so Moe-like.
Here is Ken and Soady walking Mark to the bus stop the first week of school. Aren't they cute?

The Who

Saw The Who last night at the Palace.
Good show - although they "jammed" on a bunch of songs too long which meant that they didn't play some really great songs that they could have :(
But I cannot complain since we were in a suite (which was sweet!) with great food and great people - Thanks Terry and Jeff.
Shout out to Jennifer too, our babysitter. Mark was so happy!

Goodbye Summer - We'll Miss You!

The beautiful sky waiting for the fireworks to start at Stoney Creek. We thought it was going to rain but the clouds parted in time for a great show. We were total fireworks groupies, seeing at least three shows which was hard because the 4th was on Friday and everyone had their fireworks on the same night.
One of the beautiful views from the boss' deck.
Mark fighting the waves at Port Gratiot beach in Port Huron.
He loved doing this even though it is all rocks on the bottom and let's face it, Lake Huron is not the warmest body of water -
even at the end of summer!
Mark and Ken chillin' at the Woodward Dream Cruise.
More wave jumping!
So, summer is gone and the days are getting shorter, darker and colder. I'm going to try and stay positive about this and just focus on the good stuff: cider mills, pumpkin carving, Halloween, hay rides, football games . . .
Let's hope that Fall lasts longer than the coming winter will.
