Vacation time for the Brown family and we decided to stay relatively close to home and go to the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio! Waterpark fun for everyone!
So, since we would be spending most of our time in the waterpark, we opted to get the basic, no frills "Hut" room. It was perfectly nice, your average hotel room. Unfortunately, we got a room with a view of the parking lot. Boring.
So, Ken calls in the morning and very politely asks to either have the air conditioning fixed or get another room. (We were secretly hoping for a new room with a view of the pool) Imagine our surprise when the wonderful woman on the other end of the phone says that not only will they get us another room, it has a view of the pool. As a matter of fact, it is the Presidential Suite. She says she's sending a bellman up to take us to our new suite - yippee! So we pack up already happy as clams not knowing what really lay ahead.
The bellman comes and takes us up one floor and across the resort to our new room, playing with Mark at the elevators and telling us about his years as a teacher. A very sweet man. Then he gets to the new room and opens the door and . . . . .
Here is our NEW view . . .
It was so over the top crazy and beautiful. We got one of only 3 of these rooms at the resort which go for about $1,000 per night for the rate of their most basic room for 2 more nights. All I can say is, I LOVE the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky!
We kept telling Mark to not get used to staying in rooms like this because this is not what we can afford! LOL Although, Ken is now thinking of carrying some tools with us on future trips. He's pretty handy and figures he can certainly disable another air conditioner!
Besides the great upgrade in our room, we really had a great time. Mark absolutely loved all of the waterparks, inside and out. We are thinking of going back in the winter when the winter blues set in. It would be a great reprieve from the weather. We highly recommend it.
Here is Mark doing some slip-n-sliding on the front lawn. He considers this to be his own personal waterpark. He's lucky his Daddy loves him enough to do this to his lawn!
